Bio/Description
Megan Thies is a Chemical Engineering PhD student at Princeton university working with the Complex Infrastructure Systems (CIS) group. The central theme for her research is to use complex system modeling and design optimization to advance global sustainability efforts. She earned her B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. There, she worked with her adviser Dr. Matthew Realff to optimize Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) designs using mass and energy balance models. At Princeton, her research is centered around using network science to model energy grids with better computational efficiency so that planning for sustainable upgrades and expansions is faster.
